Turkey and Stressing

Here's some more from the mailbag:

'Hey Doc,

'Just wanted to drop a note on the Q-Link. I've been
wearing it continuously since October and I feel great.

'So far all 3 of my kids had colds, my wife had a cold,
my brother and sister in law had colds and I was in
contact with them for a day. And -- No Cold for me!
I did actually get a twinge of not feeling good for a day
but it was more like I was tired than anything else and
that didn't last.

Q-Link rules!

Best,

Todd Concklin'

Thanks, Todd. Is the Q-Link a magic bullet? Not hardly.
The magic bullet is already inside you. It's called your
Immune System. What the Q-Link does is help your body's
own energy field operate more effectively. Part of the
effect is to help the nervous system relax and work better.

And the nervous system controls and coordinates all the other
systems in the body--including the Immune System.

So, the Q-Link can help give you more energy, better
focus, better sleep, etc...by helping your nervous system
work better.

And since your nervous system is your 'stress manager', a
healthier nervous system can handle stress better...and help
relieve the common symptoms of stress--headaches, digestive
problems, trouble sleeping, pain, tension, mood swings, irritability...

(sounds like the holidays to me!)

So don't let stress ruin your Turkey Day--or your life. Get a
Q-Link Personal Energy Pendant today.
http://www.drvinceonline.com/qlink.htm

And don't forget your family. I think Todd's going to take
advantage of the 'family discount'...save an extra 5%
when you order three or more.

This could be your best holiday yet. Live (and celebrate)
like you Mean it...

America's Most Neglected

One of my patients told me the other day:
'I really like reading your emails. They help me a lot...
not only mentally, but also spiritually.'

I was grateful to hear that. Because 'spiritual' is one of
the spokes on the Wheel of Life. And one of the most
neglected.

Even if we are involved in many 'spiritual' activities, they
tend to be just that: activities. They start. They end.
But true spirituality permeates your whole life. Because
spirituality is rooted in 'connectedness'. Being connected
to your Self, to Others, and to the Source.

In Wallace Wattles' 1910 classic 'The Science of Getting Rich',
he gives us what I believe to be the secret of spirituality:

'...the mental attitude of gratitude draws the mind into
closer touch with the source from which the blessings come.'

Since we're getting ready for Thanksgiving, I want to give
thanks to all of you for being part of my family, and
helping me express my Unique Contribution.

So I'd like to give you a copy of 'The Secret Power of Gratitude'.
In this course, I've included a chapter on Gratitude from The
Science of Getting Rich, and some practical exercises to help
you learn how to express your gratitude.

Same Difference

Everyone is special. Everyone is Different.
Heck, I even know a girl named Unique.

But as different as we all are, we're pretty much alike
under our skin. Funny thing is, we're not really all that
different from our pre-historic ancestors. Our genetic
makeup hasn't changed a whole lot since the early days.
You're really just a more civilized, less hairy version of
the ancient caveman (Dr. Elise prefers the term
'Cave-Deweller'), who probably knew the real Barney.

So if you eat like they did, you'll be healthy and strong
like they were. And avoid the 'diseases of civilization'.

Here's what one of our fellow homo-sapiens has to say
about the Caveman Cuisine Quick-Start Plan:

'Dr. V--

'I believe I can live with this one. I haven't announced
it to anybody, just making the small changes. The
hardest habit to break is eating out. But it's pretty easy
to look at something and say (in my best Neanderthal
head voice), '_____ causes inflammation. _____ bad.'
And then avoid it.

Even if it's on the plate. I just don't eat it. I can wrap my
head around avoiding something because it causes
inflammation. That's the combination to the lock!

'I also like the fact I'm not counting calories. It's so boring,
discouraging and never works.'

I didn't give his name, since he's not 'announcing' his goal.
And I put the blanks in there to not give away the secret
to preventing inflammation. But I unlock the secret in the
Caveman Cuisine Quick-Start Guide (And I revealed another
secret in this paragraph, if you're paying attention).

One big difference between us and our ancestors is that
we have access to all sorts of modern food processing
technology. The dark side of this technology is the highly-
processed junk food (that's not really food at all). The
bright side is being able to get highly-refined, pharmaceutical-
grade fish oil.

Fish Oil saves us from having to invent a hook or barbed
spear, stand at the creek all day, eat a pound or two of
fish, and deal with the bones, scales, smell, etc. It's one
big secret to eating in the Stone Age while living in the Space
Age (see, I'll tell you some of my secrets...just don't keep this
one to yourself...or 'from' yourself).

Take a virtual trip to the sea, and make excellent health
a reality. Be sure to get enough for everyone in your cave.

P.S. If you learn the inflammation secret by Thursday,
you'll really thank me for helping you make it through
the holidays at or below your current weight.

Grandma's Unique Weekend

I got this note Tuesday, after Monday's email about my
Unique Weekend:

'Dr. Vince,

'I also was in Atlanta last weekend, just sitting and
pacing in the Piedmont Hospital ICU waiting room with
my daughter, other family and friends, trying to remain
calm during the 12-hour surgery to remove the tumor
from Holly's (my sixteen-year old granddaughter) brain.
Now THAT is STRESS! I wore my heart shaped Q-Link
and can assume that it worked overtime, helping me
to be calm.

'This is the first 'test' I've been given since I got the
Q-Link, but can only believe that it works, since I didn't
develop my signature migraine headache during the three
days/nights.

'We could never have anticipated this situation for a TEST.
However, I believe that my Q-Link was instrumental in
calming the emotions I was going through, so feel free to
share this with others.'

Carol

Thanks, Carol. I heard from Holly's mom today. She's in
a 'regular' room now and doing fine. Mom said the tumor
was the size of an orange.

All of a sudden, my problems seem trivial.

But if the Q-Link can help Grandma Carol through that
kind of stress, it's bound to be able to help you through
yours. See for yourself.
http://www.drvinceonline.com/qlink.htm

We're keeping Holly in our thoughts and prayers.
Hope you'll join us.

Dr. Vince

My Favorite Dinosaur

I don't care what anybody else says, I like Barney. That's
right, Barney T. Rex, the purple dinosaur. And maybe that
makes me unique.

But at first, I was a little cynical. He would sing: 'You
are special, special...everyone is special...everyone in
his or her own way.'

And I would sing back, 'If everyone is special, then no
one's special.'

But I was thinking in a competitive mindset. As if he
was saying 'everyone is the best'. But then I watched
it again (and again, and again...and listened to Grace
sing it again and again...OK, I'll admit it, ad nauseum...
but I still like him), I finally got the message.

Everyone is singular, different and special (some call me
'peculiar', but I think they mean it in a good way). Not
just because you're different (everyone's different), but
because of the talents, gifts, points of view, personality
that make you different.

Your Unique Contribution.

Your mind and body carry around these unique talents,
gifts, points of view, personality (not to mention your
soul and spirit), so respect them and feed them well.

Speaking of feeding (or should I say feeding-frenzy),
next Thursday is going to put the stress on the ol' digestive
system big-time. So make sure you know how to eat to
still lose weight over the holidays (yes, it's possible...).
You'll find the secret here
http://www.drvinceonline.com/caveman.htm

Thanks for your contribution......there's no one else like you.

Dr. Vince

P.S. Next Friday could be the most stressful day of the
year for some of you. My wife and her sister go shopping
that day (all day). Ruth makes sure to take an extra
dose of magnesium before she goes, though...it helps
you relax physically and mentally. It's part of the Core Four.
Get yours here http://www.drvinceonline.com/core4.htm
so the holiday stress doesn't get you.

My Unique Weekend

Saturday, I drove into Atlanta for a chiropractic seminar.
Learning Trips like these remind me of my learning time at
Ga Tech (since I drive right by it) in the early 80's and
Life Chiropractic College in the early 90's. This trip was
unique, though, because my chiropractic 'father' (my first
chiropractor) was actually taking the class with me.

When I checked into the hotel that morning, I noticed the
name tag of the lady behind the counter: it said UNIQUE.

I smiled to myself as I thought of a bad imitation of the
'Who's on First?' routine:

What's the receptionist's name?
Her name is Unique.
I'm sure it is...what's her name?
It's Unique!...
(groan)

It's what my dad would call 'purposefully redundant'.
Her name is 'Unique'...and her name is unique...highlighting
the fact that she is, in fact, unique.

So are you. But sometimes you forget. You try to conform
and blend in; keep the boat from rocking. The only trouble is
that when you hide yourself from us, you also hide yourself
from You.

Are you expressing your singular, peculiar, unique gifts?
or just turning into a carbon copy of the next guy, floating
along with herd...settling for mediocrity?

Like Stephen Covey says:

'Keep in mind that you are always saying 'no' to something.
If it isn't to the apparent, urgent things in your life, it is
probably to the more fundamental, highly important things.
Even when the urgent is good, the good can keep you from
your Best, keep you from your unique contribution.

If you let it.'

Urgency causes stress; and stress keeps you from your Best.
That's why I recommend the QLink Pendant. It relaxes your
Mind and Body. It gives you the clarity to say 'no' when you
need to. And you can use that extra time to organize and
execute your goals--to create the life you want.

As an added bonus, the Q-Link looks unique. So the very
act of wearing it can remind you how special you really are
(that's why I wear mine all the time). Speaking of bonuses,
I've added a few bonuses to the Q-Link packages. You
should check them out now while the stress season is still a
few days away http://www.drvinceonline.com/qlink.htm

Live (Your Life, not someone else's) like you Mean it...

Dr. Vince

PS. Magnesium is a key stress-buster. Magnesium deficiency
makes you stressed out, and stress uses all your magnesium
(which makes you more stressed, and so on, and so on).
The Great Pumpkin probably didn't bring you any magnesium,
so you'll need to get your own. It's part of the Core Four,
so get yours now and keep your holidays less stressful
(I would say stress-free, but the way our holidays are,
that would be pushing it)

What's for Sunday Lunch?

That's always a good question around our house.
(To find out why, you can check out the Caveman Cusine
Quick-Start
package)

But one thing's for sure, and I've put my foot down about this.
I'm pretty easy-going about many things, but no matter how
much my wife and daughter ask, no matter if they beg and
plead and bat their eyelashes, I flat out refuse to let them
eat at Chick-Fil-A on Sunday.

Not because I'm a meanie. And not because I don't like
Chick-Fil-A's. It's just not open on Sunday. And not only today.

Never.

Truett Cathy, the Founder and Chairman of Chick-Fil-A, chose
to be closed on Sundays. One former franchisee thought that was
silly, and opened his store on Sunday. But only one (that's why
he's a 'former' franchisee). Mr. Cathy is committed to faith and
family, and wanted his employees to be able to enjoy both, so he
shuts down every Sunday.

Which doesn't really sound like a good business decision. 'Good
business' would say, 'Hey, Truett. Don't be so old-fashioned. Be
open 7 days a week, so that you can serve more people and make
more moneee.

But he might answer back with a classic from the Dr. Vince
quote book:

'Anything is Possible. The only limitations are those you
acknowledge.'

And I think he'd be right. Chick-Fil-A is the 2nd largest 'fast'
chicken restaurant in the world (the Colonel's 50 year
head-start is still paying off).

The key to Chick-Fil-A's success is in their creativity. Which is
basically the key to all success. And not just coming up with
new ideas. Sure, they invented the chicken sandwich and
spelling-challenged cows. But their success comes mostly from
deciding to create the type of business that they want.

And your success will come from deciding to create the type of
life you want...then doing what it takes to make it a reality. No
matter what anyone else thinks, or how different it is.

So you may eat different than everyone else. You may read while
others watch TV. You may not fill your kid's (or your) schedule to
the brim. Other people may think you're strange (they probably do
anyway), so don't worry about them.

Why be Normal?

Don't be afraid to expand your limitations...Just be the Best You
that you can.

Dr. Vince

P.S. A major source of 'brain-fog' and mental stress (that can lead
to poor decisions, procrastination and a mediocre life) is Electro-
Magnetic Stress. And I apologize for exposing you to it while you
read this email (computers are big sources...cellphones, too). But
I'm also offering you a solution. The Q-Link protects you from
external stress by strengthening your 'bio-field' (your body's own
electric force-field) from the Inside-Out. Which helps you think
clearly, make better decisions and have the energy to carry them
out. The year is coming to an end, but there is still time to change
a couple of bad habits (it takes 21 days to start a good one). So take
that first step to a better 06 and a tremendous 07 and get your
QLink today. http://www.drvinceonline.com/qlink.htm

Why Be Normal?

Here's a quickie from the mailbag:

Dr. V,

The Q is doing great. Everyone around me has been
sick. I haven't been getting much sleep, but am still
functioning normally. That's pretty good for me.

Have a great day.
Carol

Way to go, Carol (try to catch some zzzzz's, though)
I had a five-day seminar recently, and felt great after
the (long) ride home...even though my bag was the last
one off the plane.

With 'flu season' coming (more on that later: hint, it's not
the flu...it's Hallowe'en, Thanksgiving and Christmas), don't
be like everyone else, sick and dragging. Stay energized,
focused, and enjoy the holidays (early Christmas gift?) with
your Q-Link Personal Energy Pendant. Check out the newly
updated page with Titanium, Polymer and Red-Carpet
packages. There are even a few bonuses to help when it
comes time for 'checking it twice'.
http://www.drvinceonline.com/qlink.htm

Live like you Mean it...

Dr. Vince

P.S. Have a nice weekend...I'll be in a chiropractic seminar
from 8 'til 8 tomorrow, so you can be certain that I'll have my
Titanium Q-Link on http://www.drvinceonline.com/qlink.htm
and still be feeling great at bedtime (only 8 'til noon on Sunday)

Are You Asleep at the Wheel?

Ruth and I enjoy a little 'reality TV' now and then,
especially the weight loss shows. 'Bob' on the
'Biggest Loser' last night was 81 pounds lighter than when
he started the show. He said that his favorite new activity
with his thinner body is playing with his kids on the
playground. 'Back then, I could only sit and watch. But now
it's the best feeling to be able to play with them...'

and yes, he was crying his eyes out when he said it.

Personal limitations are painful. Personal growth is powerful...
and necessary for a good Life.

Remember Mr. Chick-Fil-A:
'Food is essential to life. Therefore, make it good.'

Good food feeds a good life. But the your life won't change
until you decide to change it--and take action. Bob couldn't
play with his kids until he started to eat better and get active
again. And the thought of playing with his kids again kept him
focused on his goal.

That's why the Wheel of Life metaphor is so helpful. Each of
your life roles is a spoke on the wheel helping your life
roll further along the Path. Or, when neglected, can keep
you from your Best.

For instance, if you're low-energy, blue, sick a lot or not
feeling well in general (Physical or Mental), you won't be your
best at work (Career), or feel much like going out or
networking (Social), which could stunt your professional
growth (Financial) or personal growth (Spiritual).

Or you can't play with your kids on the playground.

It all starts with your goals, what you want. Like Wallace
Wattles said,

'If you have not consciously made the decision to be rich,
excellent, and healthy then you have unconsciously made
the decision to be poor, mediocre, and unhealthy.'

Don't settle for mediocrity; make excellent decisions and
set excellent goals.

Make it Good,

Dr. Vince

P.S. The best way to start feeling better and thinking better
is to start feeding your brain better. Fish oil is the ultimate
brain food (your brain prefers fish-fats over all the others).
CoQ10 prevents brain inflammation that can lead to
Alzheimer's. Magnesium is a big-time stress-reducer. And a
multi-vitamin also helps keep your mind clear as you age.
That's why they're called the Core Four. They're the starting
place of good nutrition...and the good life.
Get yours at http://www.drvinceonline.com/core4.htm

Who Needs Gud Speling?

The Chick-Fil-A Cows and the Chick-Fil-A boss-man
don't spel or rite too gud.

'Eat Mor Chikin' is their motto. But it seems to be
working. Chick-Fil-A is the second largest fast-serve
chicken food chain in the world. Not too shabby
for my home-boy Truett Cathy.

Trouble is, Mr. Cathy has a little trouble with his English,
too. He mangled the spelling of Chick Filet. And the
quote he has hanging in the Madison store says:

'Food is essential to life. Therefore, make it good.'

It seems he may have dangled a participle, there. My
favorite English teacher patient from New Jersey might
argue that we're not sure whether to make our 'food'
or our 'life' good.

But that's OK. Call it 'delicious ambiguity'. Let's make
our food AND our life good.

Because we can't really have a good life without good
food. Our experience of life is directly connected to our
expression of life, which depends on how well our body
works...which depends largely on the quality of our food.

'Eating better' is a good 'physical' goal. Most people
associate eating/food goals with how they look: getting
their bodies in shape, reducing flab, blubber, love
handles, etc.

But 'eating better' can also improve how you feel: your
'mental' goals. Junk, sugar, refined flour, high-fructose
corn syrup, trans-fats, grain products, artificial sweeteners
(have I left out any of your favorites?) all cause trouble
in the brain chemistry and blood sugar. That can make
it hard to focus and think clearly.

These chemicals can also disrupt the neurotransmitters
in the brain, causing mild or major depression, mood
swings, irritability, manic-depression/bi-polar disorder
and even schizophrenia.

And inflammation (from lots of grain and trans-fats) is
one of the biggest culprits in Alzheimer's disease,
senile dementia, ADHD, behavioral problems, dyslexia.

Wow. Our food really does need to be good. And that
means fewer inflammatory Omega-6 fats, and more
Omega-3 fats to balance them out.

The Core Four includes Omega-3s, as well as other
powerful nutrients that work together to reduce
inflammation. They give your body the tools it needs
to re-create itself from the Inside-Out, so you can
express your best health--physical and mental.

Make your life better and add them today.
http://www.drvinceonline.com/core4.htm

Here's to better health, better energy and a better
Life (no matter how you spell it),

Dr. Vince

P.S. If you need help putting it all together, you can
get a copy of my Caveman Cuisine Quick-Start Guide.
It gives you a simple, easy-to-follow plan for easing
your way back into a healthy groove in three or four
weeks (no cold turkey...but that's on the plan)
http://www.drvinceonline.com/caveman.htm

No One's Ever Said That Before

A patient of mine (Faye) came in today to get adjusted
and get some fish oil. After her adjustment, she told me
something I've never heard anyone else say in my office
before. But now that she's said it, I'm sure I'll be hearing
it a lot more often.

'I'm going down to Chick-Fil-A and get a salad.'

Our Chick-Fil-A just opened a few weeks ago. And
you'd think it was a visitation from the Pope or something;
people were camping out days ahead of time, to get their
chance at free chicken for a year. With Starbuck's opening
later this month, I believe that Madison has officially hit the
Big Time.

Truett Cathy, the Founder and Chairman of Chick-Fil-A, is a
home-grown Atlanta-boy himself. Whenever I drive by, I
think about one of his quotes that's mounted on the wall of
our store.

It says, 'Food is essential to life. Therefore, make it good.'

Food is essential to life. And some food more essential than
others. In nutritional lingo, 'essential' means that your body
can't make them; you have to get them from the food
you eat.

For instance, there are only eight 'essential' amino acids,
but your body can make the other 12 or so it needs with
a biological mix-n-match.

Also, there are two major essential fatty acids, called
Omega-3 and Omega-6. Omega-3s are anti-inflammatory;
Omega-6s are pro-inflammatory. Both play an important
role in your immune system, nervous system, cardiovascular
system, etc. The key to staying healthy is keeping your
3s and 6s are balanced.

That's why taking Concentrated Omega-3 Pharmaceutical-grade
Fish Oil is so critical. It's virtually impossible to avoid all
the junk...but a good shot of anti-inflammatory fish oil
each day goes a long way to helping balance out the
pro-inflammatory Omega-6 fats (found in junk food, fried
food, grains, etc.)

Fish oil 'covers a multitude of nutritional sins'.

The Chick-Fil-A Cows tell you to 'Eat Mor Chikin'. Not bad
advice. But I would add, 'Even if your food is good, fish oil
makes it better'. Faye's definitely on the right track.

Live like You Mean it...

Dr. Vince

P.S. You can get your Concentrated Omega-3 Pharmaceutical
Grade Fish Oil here:
http://www.drvinceonline.com/fishoil.htm

P.P.S. You can boost the anti-inflammatory power of
your fish oil by adding the rest of the Core Four--
CoQ10, Magnesium and AVED Multi-vitamin/mineral
http://www.drvinceonline.com/core4.htm

Is 72 Too Old

A patient of ours named Cindy came in Wednesday to get
some fish oil and wanted to tell me about her father-in-law.
She was very excited, and once she told me the story, I could
see why. It got me excited, too.

Her father-in-law is 72 years old and suffers from gout, high
blood pressure, glaucoma and high cholesterol (355). Cindy
told him her plan that helped her lose weight and get healthy
again: start taking fish oil, and cut out the 'whites' (sugar, flour,
potatoes and rice).

In only three months his cholesterol dropped to 165, and he
reduced his cholesterol medication (which made him feel
terrible anyway). He also decreased his blood pressure
medication. Once again, proving that fish oil is GREAT for
the heart.

But that's not all. His gout blood test was much better, and
the eye doctor was amazed at how much better his glaucoma
was. In fact, the doctor said he wouldn't believe it improved
that much--if he hadn't seen it with his own eyes.

Cindy's not surprised, though. Her father-in-law thinks fish oil is
like taking a miracle drug, since it's helped all aspects of his health.
But she knows 'it's because fish oil helps every cell in your body
work better.'

He even talked her stubborn mother-in-law (who hates anything 'fish')
into taking the fish oil.

Now, I don't care how old you are, that's saying something.

If you don't want to drive to Madison, you can get your fish oil
here http://www.drvinceonline.com/fishoil.htm

Don't wait until you're 72 to start living like you mean it...

Dr. Vince

P.S. Cindy's father-in-law will probably want to check out the
rest of the Core Four as well...especially CoQ10. All your
body's CoQ10 is destroyed by cholesterol drugs, so it needs
to be replaced. CoQ10 releases your energy, but also helps the
heart pump strong like it needs to. Check it out here:
http://www.drvinceonline.com/core4.htm

P.P.S. My folks don't drive down from Tennessee,
they order online. But they'll probably stock up when they
come down for Thanksgiving. I was thinking 72 is pretty old,
then I remembered that my Dad is 72...and he's not old
at all. In fact, you're never too old to change your
habits--and your life.

Take Off more than the Mask

Last night, we had bright, festive jack-o-lanterns. Now,
they're dark, sad, wilted compost. The big bowl is empty,
and the wastebasket's full of wrappers. Our neighbor
Jim (God bless him) went on his annual post-traumatic...I
mean post-Halloween trash run around the block. A few
trick-or-treaters leave evidence behind; which isn't too
bad, considering we had almost 800.

After a big night of candy or other celebrating, sometimes
it's hard to get back on the straight and narrow, because
you may be creating the 'celebrating' habit.

Think about this: next it's Thanksgiving, then Christmas,
then New Year's, Valentine's Day, Easter...you get the
picture. The only people training us better than Hallmark
are the candy companies.

It's ok to have some candy on occasion, but a steady
stream makes you weak and sick. That's not really news.
But most people don't realize how much junk (not just candy,
but chips, cookies, etc...all that fun stuff) they actually
eat; and how those chemicals affect your mood and your
health.

Jim Rohn says, 'Success is nothing more than a few simple
disciplines, practiced every day; while failure is simply a
few errors in judgment, repeated every day. It is the
accumulative weight of our disciplines and our judgments
that leads us to either fortune or failure.'

The accumulated weight of our disciplines and judgments
about what we eat is leading to our 'accumulated weight'.

If you're not happy with your size, shape or your health,
now's a great time to do something about it. To change
your disciplines.

One good habit to start is drinking whey protein each day.
Whey helps burn blubber and build muscle. It keeps you full
longer, so you won't feel like snacking so much. And it
improves your mood and immune function.

A steady stream of whey helps you feel better, and feel
more like yourself. That'll make it easier to take off that
mask--and take off the extra poundage (before the
Christmas pictures.)

Get started now http://www.drvinceonline.com/whey.htm

Gotta go knock the sulgs off the front porch (they must

P.S. If you really want to get back in shape fast, you've
got to reconnect to your original eating pattern (give or
take a microwave). The Caveman Cuisine Quick-Start
plan helps you make the changes slowly, over three
weeks, so that you can develop your 'few simple disciplines'
very simply. (don't worry: no slugs) Get yours at

My friend Ken was telling me about a guest on David Letterman
last night. Now, back in our 20's Ruth and I used to watch David
regularly; but now that we're 40-something we're watching our
eyelids by the time he comes on.

Anyway, the guest was Borat, the funny guy from Kazakhstan.

Or is he?

Yes, he's funny. But is he really from Kazakhstan? No one's really sure,
except Borat, of course, because he's always 'in character'. He might be
legit; like I say, no one's really sure.

The Kazakhstan government even took out a four-page spread in the
NY Times to tout the greatness of their country...and possibly diffuse
some of the ridiculousness of Borat's movie. Maybe they don't know either.

Ken said that Borat reminded him of Andy Kaufman (who played
Latka on 'Taxi' back in the 70's) When Andy wasn't on the show,
he would still act like one of his 'characters', and was never just
plain old Andy. Even when he tried to be serious on Saturday Night Live
(again, in our 20's), no one took him seriously.

'No one knew who he really was'. And now he's gone, and we've missed
our chance to ever find out.

Sometimes it's hard to be yourself when you're not 'feeling like
yourself'. You Brain chemistry is very delicate, and responds to the
chemicals you eat. That is, the chemicals in your food. Our grain-based,
junk-based diets can cause all kinds of mind-trouble. Depression, agression,
bipolar disorder, ADHD, O-C, even schizophrenia have their roots in too many Omega-6s distorting the brain chemistry.

Good news: they've all shown some improvement (even reversal) by
restoring the Omega-3/Omega-6 fatty acid balance in the diet.

So on this night of 'scary' eating, try not to overdo it. But if you do,
make sure to take a big dose of Concentrated Omega-3
pharmaceutical-grade fish oil (it covers a multitude of sins).

PS. when you see the kids in the masks, notice how natural it is to
say, 'Who are you?' We want to know who you are, too. So make sure
to show us your true self. If you're not feeling like yourself, check out
the Core Four. These are powerful nutrients to help your brain work
like it should--clarity, memory, mood--and keep the stress levels
low (especially as we head into the hallow-days full speed ahead)

Cell Phones Rock

'The more that things change, the more they stay the same.'

That's a famous French saying, but it's also a famous lyric from
the band Rush. I went to see them back in 1981 when I was a
freshman at Tech. It was a great musical experience, but also
a great social one: exposing my engineer/nerd mind to the
rock and roll culture.

Well, I re-visited that experience last week when I saw the
Red Hot Chili Peppers.

In the 80's, we stood IN line two days at the Omni to get the
tickets; now, we got them ONline, from the comfort of our home.

Back then, the guys on stage were small and hard to see; they
pulled long electric cords behind them. Now they have a full stage
and light show, with moving screens, multiple camera angles
and wireless instruments.

For the slow songs, we used to hold up lighters for the mellow
effect. Now (since smoking is prohibited, another big difference) most
people are using...

...cell phones.

Who would've thought that a cell phone could set a mood? For
that matter, who would've thought that a cell phone could cook an egg?
lower your sperm count? cause so many traffic accidents? or
weaken your blood-brain barrier?

Cell phones, like most other hi-tech gadgets, can be a double-
edged sword. Helpful and handy, but also harmful (even addicting...
remember how you felt the last time you forgot to bring your
phone with you?)

Here are a few ways to blunt the edge of that sword and make
your cell phone a little safer:

1. Don't talk while you drive. 'Distracted Driving' is becoming
just as dangerous as drunk driving. Lately, any time I see someone
driving erratically (too slow, weaving, etc.) they've got a phone
plastered to the side of their head, staring off into Never-Never land.

2. Use the speaker-phone mode. That way you don't have to
hold it so close to your head. A cell phone emits a 'radiation plume'
about the size of a basketball, so keep it away from your head
if at all possible.

3. Wear your Q-Link. The Q-Link pendant is a helpful high-tech
gadget that protects you from the harmful effects of other high-tech
gadgets. It blocks the electronic stress from cell phones, computers,
appliances, TV, etc. And it keeps you focused, alert and relaxed
(another good reason to wear it while driving)
http://www.drvinceonline.com/qlink.htm

4. Make and take your calls outside. You may not realize it, but
you talk alot louder when you're on the phone. And hearing one
loud side of a conversation can make people a little irritable
(especially if there are two or three people talking in the same room).
So step outside or at least around the corner, and give your fellow
citizens a little peace and quiet.

Rock On...

Dr. Vince

P.S. On the way to work the next day, I made sure I listened to my
'Renewal' CD. I wanted to balance my brain and soothe my body
before I started touching people. Rock music has been shown to
increase heart rate, respiration rate and stress response. High-frequency
classical music can help heal all that head-banging and make you
more relaxed and productive. My friend Tania has put together an
amazing program called 'the Secret Power of Words and Music'. It
includes some of her own original compositions. Good stuff. Check it out at

Junk in the Trunk

Americans have too much junk in our trunk. And it's costing us
at the pump.

Our waistlines are expanding and our gas mileage is shrinking.

A study from University of Illinois says we're burning nearly ONE
BILLION more gallons of gasoline each year than we did in 1960,
because of our excess poundage.

The obesity rate among U.S. adults doubled from 1987 to 2003,
from about 15 percent to more than 30 percent. Also, the average
American (whether from Mars or Venus) is 25 pounds heavier today
than they were in 1960.

The study shows a relationship between our hunger for food and
our hunger for fossil fuel. Most of my patients tow a boat or a
horse trailer. And they know that more weight in the car means
fewer miles per gallon.

Our Frequent Flyers are having the same problem. Airlines are
considering a surcharge for heavy passengers. Not just
because they take up two seats, but it takes more fuel to haul
their bodacious bottom across the country.

So, if you starting spending more on good fuel for your tank,
you'll spend less on fuel for your car's tank.

Whey protein is a great fat-buster and will clean your trunk out
in no time. Whey promotes fat burning, boosts lean body mass,
keeps you satisfied, reduces your caloric intake, supports
healthy stress response, maintains healthy levels of
neurotransmitters in the brain.

In short, it helps you look good and feel good.

'Show Me the Whey' is the one I use, and the best I've found. No
harmful ingredients, with only natural sweetener and flavor
(chocolate or vanilla). It's great for a breakfast shake or
snack. Get yours here http://www.drvinceonline.com/whey.htm

If you're belt (or your seatbelt) is getting snug, don't let it
out a notch. The junk in the trunk comes from junk in your tank.

Start losing your spare tire today.

Dr. Vince

P.S. Halloween is Tuesday. Thanksgiving and Christmas will be
here before you know it. Don't let them get the best of you--be
your Best. The Omega-3s in fish oil help reduce inflammation at
the cellular level, making them powerful 'butter-burners'. Take
fish oil with your whey and speed up your results.

Who's Eating your Omelette?

This weekend in Tampa, it was 90 degrees outside, but I was
freezing inside the restaurant. So, I found a little warm
spot over at the Omelette Station.

I ordered an all veggie; my friend ordered the 'Elder Bush' (no
broccoli); and the guy between us ordered sausage and swiss.

We watched the large, round chef getting spatula-happy in
the small corner behind his bullet-proof shield. It looked like a
breakfast version of the 'pope-mobile'.

A stranger strolled up out of the blue and clanked his plate
onto the glass counter. The chef flipped his pan and slid
the fresh omelette onto his plate. As the stranger walked away,
the man between us said, 'Was that the one with swiss
cheese?'

The chef said, 'uh, yeah?'

'Hey, that was MY omelette. Oh, forget it. Just make me
another one.'

The cook obliged, but the man stood there pouting for the next
four and a half minutes, arms crossed, foot tapping. Then he
huffed off to eat.

We thought the whole thing was hilarious. But it got even
funnier. We caught up with Mystery Omelette Guy a few hours
later. He said he just put his plate up there to get his
omelette, and was halfway through eating it before he
realized he had the wrong one.

The sad thing is that some people get half-way through their
life before they realize it's the wrong one. Are you living
your life, or someone elses?

Like Ayn Rand said, have you let your mind 'accumulate
a junk heap of unwarranted conclusions, false generalizations,
undefined contradictions, undigested slogans, unidentified
wishes, doubts and fears, thrown together by chance...'

Life is too short to get stuck with someone else's omelette
in your head. And stress makes it that much harder to change
and grow. Mr. Swiss was definitely stressed out; Mystery Omelette
Guy was spaced out. Both of them need a Q-Link.

The Q-Link pendant gives you clear thinking, more energy and
enthusiasm. You can concentrate better, work smarter and
play harder. Relax, imagine, create. Improve your Life.

If stress is eating your omelette, you should go right now and
get a QLink pendant http://www.drvinceonline.com/qlink.htm

Live like You Mean it...

Dr. Vince

P.S. My Q-Link worked like a charm (even though it's not a good
luck charm...it's high-tech protection for your body and mind). I
flew back from Tampa after a five-day seminar, and even with a
delay before we left, a little circling in Atlanta, and a long wait at
baggage claim, I got home feeling great with not jet lag or fatigue.
And my Titanium Q didn't even set off the metal detector. Tired of
